About Our Institution

Visvesvaraya College of Engineering & Technology (VCET) was established in 2007 with a singular vision — to deliver world-class technical education to students from Hyderabad and the surrounding regions of Telangana, making quality engineering education accessible, affordable, and industry-relevant.

Founded under the aegis of Jawahar Educational Society, Ranga Reddy District, VCET was born out of a deep commitment to the growth of technical education in the region. The promoters — drawn from diverse professions and occupations — brought with them decades of experience in running successful engineering institutions, having already established Sree Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology and Science (SVITS) at Mahabubnagar in 1998.

Named after the legendary engineer and statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya — Bharat Ratna awardee and an icon of Indian engineering — VCET carries forward his legacy of precision, excellence, and service to society.

Located at Bongloor X Roads, M.P. Patelguda Village, Ibrahimpatnam, Ranga Reddy District, the college spans a sprawling green campus designed to inspire learning, innovation, and personal growth.

Approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), VCET has grown steadily over the years into a fully-fledged technical institution offering B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA programs across multiple disciplines.

In 2023, VCET achieved a landmark milestone — earning the prestigious NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation, a recognition of the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic quality, infrastructure, governance, and student outcomes. This was followed in 2024 by the grant of UGC Autonomous Status — empowering the college to design its own curriculum, conduct its own examinations, and innovate in academics to match the pace of an evolving industry.

Today, VCET stands as a UGC Autonomous, NAAC ‘A’ Grade accredited institution, nurturing over 1,800 students and supported by a dedicated faculty of 100+ experienced academicians and researchers. Our graduates are employed in leading technology companies across India and abroad — a testament to the quality of education and the strength of our training and placement ecosystem.
