Dr. N Laxmi, Assoc. Professor M.Tech, Ph.D
Dr.Laxmi Nakerekanti obtained PhD from Saveetha University SIMATS) Chennai,
India in 2024 and Master of Engineering with specialization in Embedded systems
with distinction from JNT University, Hyderabad in 2009 and Graduation from
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, India in 2006.
She has put up 12 years teaching and research experience, and published 16
international journals, 5 national and international conferences.She has guided and
evaluated numerous B.Tech and M.Tech projects. Dr.Laxmi has a Life membership of
ISTE. She is an excellent researcher cum human being devoted to the well being of
society.
Research Objectives
VCET has been emphasizing on Centre for Research, Development and Consultancyin various areas of Engineering
To carryout/monitoring any, consultancy project, including manpower requirement.
ď‚·To submit various project proposals to the government & non government
funding agencies.
To provide Technological servicing / repairs of equipment's to keep them in good
condition.
To create awareness of funding opportunities through Institute’s Research
Promotion Scheme.
ď‚·To provide a social setting to stimulate inter-disciplinary research among the
students – Undergraduate research schemes and opportunities.
ď‚·To execute MoUs with R&D organizations and Industries.
ď‚·To oversee publications of research articles/journals within the Institute through
(R&D Newsletter)
ď‚· Â Â To provide Technology Development and Transfer via patenting & publishing
book chapters (National/International)
ď‚· Â Â To initiate industry collaboration, interaction and Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) projects.
Research & Development Cell
The R & D Cell was established to promote and monitor the development in research ativities of the college. RD Cell motivates the students in research activies, by providing the required suggesstions and training. The R & D cell aims to nurture research culture in the Institute by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging areas of engineering technology and sciences. A special assistance is given to feculty member for writing research proposals if necessary. It encourages the students and faculties to undertake the research in newly emerging frontier areas of engineering, technology, science and humanities including multidisciplinary fields. This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way of participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition. etc.Â
 Roles & Responsibilities (R & D) Cell
- Dean (R&D) will be assisted by a faculty designated “R&D coordinator” deputed one each from all the departments, as they are expected to provide the necessary R&D related information of their department from time to time and aid in executing the Dean’s duties effectively.
- Dean (R&D) will assist the Principal in the following:
- Effective implementation of Sponsored Projects.
- Approval for Faculty members to attend FDPs, workshops, STTPs, conferences, etc...
- Encourage and motivate Faculty and students for adopting Innovative approaches in their field of interest.
- Implementation of Reimbursement policy of the Institute.
- Encouraging staff to register in various Professional Bodies and overlooking the Professional Bodies Activities in the college.
- Provide guidance for submitting proposals to funding agencies as required.
- Assisting the faculty/students in writing research articles, filing patents as required.
- Create and maintain a database regarding faculty expertise and their publications.
- Framing rules for industrial sponsored research and consultancy on case to case basis.
- Act as a bridge between Industry and Institute for Interaction Process.
- Any other R & D related tasks as assigned by Principal/Management.
