Dr. Joga Jaya Prakash Reddy, Assoc. Professor,Training and Placement Officer
Dr. Joga Jayaprakash Reddy, Professor of Civil Engineering, heads the Training and Placement Cell. Alongside a full-time Additional Training and Placement Officer, a committee including one faculty member and one student from each department ensures effective coordination of cell activities. Equipped to prepare industry-ready graduates, the cell maintains active partnerships with reputable industries and keeps students informed about job opportunities.
Objectives
1. Help students understand the importance of gaining the skills that companies are seeking.
2. Foster awareness among students about the importance of acquiring in-demand skills sought by companies.
3. Organise training programs to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements.
4. Enhance students' engineering fundamentals and equip them with industry-specific, soft, managerial, and employability skills through expert-guided sessions.
5. Empower students to explore global opportunities and maximize their potential.
6. Coordinate mock aptitude tests, psychometric assessments, group discussions, and personality development sessions conducted by professionals; facilitate campus interviews and internships; maintain alumni networks, and arrange industry interactions for holistic student development.
7. Scheduling training programs from 1st year to prepare students to cater corporate needs & requirements.
8. Adopting into Digital Technologies – AI / ML / IOT / Cyber Security / Block chain / Data Analytics / Cloud.
Roles of TPO
The Placement Office offers students access to diverse job opportunities and career paths. Counseling provided by the office helps students understand these options, enabling them to assess their interests and skills for a more professional job pursuit. Training in group discussions, resume building, and interview skills prepares them to fit into prestigious career roles. AITS ensures all graduates secure not just any job offer, but one that matches their aspirations and potential, making placement a key success factor in every program.
1. Arrange campus interviews for final year students with reputable industries and businesses across India.
2. Train students for campus interviews, covering aptitude tests, group discussions, and technical and HR interview preparation with expert trainers.
3. Offer career counseling through lectures by senior corporate personnel and alumni to guide students.
4. Facilitate students' readiness for interviews and connect them with diverse career opportunities through proactive engagement with industry leaders and alumni.
Activities of T&P
The Placement Office performs the following activities:
1. Facilitating student placements in industries through campus recruitments.
2. Organizing internships and in-plant training across diverse sectors.
3. Hosting contests, competitions, and events for student engagement.
4. Inviting corporate experts and industry leaders for guest lectures, seminars, and student interactions.
5. Establishing collaborations between academia and industry.
6. Coordinating initiatives such as Centres of Excellence, Incubation Centers, and R&D initiatives with corporate partners.
7. Organizing Faculty Development Programs in collaboration with the corporate sector
Campus Placement Procedure
- Receives and forwards the feedback pertinent to curriculum improvement from the visiting companies to the faculty, to ensure that the curriculum follows the latest industrial trends.
- Helps every student define his/her career interest through individual expert counseling.
- Makes available updated database and job profile of the companies and thus helps each student analyze and choose company of his interest
- Organizes and coordinates Campus Placement Program, to fulfill its commitment of a job to every aspirant.
- Works towards continuing education for the college employees.
- Motivates students to go for higher studies and guiding them to take competitive exams such as CAT, GATE, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and IELTS. Organizes a platform to interact with our alumni, which help the students to improve their corporate etiquette and awareness about the organization's expectations.
- Invitations are sent to companies/organizations in the form of brochures with relevant information along with response sheets enquiring about the recruitment details. Soft copies of the brochure and response sheet are also sent.
- The company fills the response sheet and sends it by e-mail/post to the Training and Placement Department, VCET, Patelguda, Ibrahimpatnam.
- Once the details are received, the placement officer and coordinators get in touch with the company and a mutually convenient date is fixed for the Campus Placement process.
- Pickups/ Drops from/ to the railway station, junction, Bus stop or airport can be arranged by college.
- Accommodation/ Food are provided at the institute campus.
- OHP, Slide Projector, LCD, Laptop etc. will be provided for the Pre-Placement Talk.
- Halls will be arranged suitably for the Pre-Placement Talk, Written tests, Group Discussions and Activities and Personal Interviews.
- If a company desires to hold online tests for the candidates, the arrangements will be made in the computer center on prior intimation. Up to 100 students can take up the test at a time.
The travel plans are obtained from the company and the necessary arrangements are made as follows.

Industry Institute Programmes - Corporate leaders from leading industries are invited regularly to interact with students. Vital aspects of entrepreneurship are nurtured by the Institute's Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, which train students in business basics, project preparation, business opportunities, working capital management, motivation exercises, and export opportunities.
Various Training Programmes are organized to train the students in the areas of Aptitude, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Verbal through the Reputed External Training centers and in-house trainers. Technical training programmes are being conducted by Technical experts.
Training through Mock Interviews for students to perform well in the professional interviews as per the expectations of the corporate world. Students are trained in personality development for the recruitment process.
